Jamming it up in Vegas

I went on yet another food date with a friend of mine.  While in Las Vegas we decided to hit Jamms.  They’re a (F.O.) restaurant that prides themselves on providing everything made to order.  Therefor I sooo wanted to try their famous, freshly baked ‘Pot Of Bread’ which comes in cinnamon raisin and plain.  It was fine, but not as exciting as I was hoping.  I guess I was looking for something with more of a powerful flavor, for bread that is and something additionally exciting rather than their sweet cream cheese for its compliment.  Yes, the bread was warm and soft and the ratio of raisins were great.  And don’t get me wrong, I at it, it wasn’t bad, was just looking for more.

Funny, I find myself always looking for more these days.  This is only because I have found places that I absolutely love and enjoy and unfortunately find myself comparing these new spots to my favorite places. <sigh>  However, I can separate and respect a business simply for what it is.  This is why I always say, just because I did not love it, does not mean you should not go.  I always want you to try these places out for yourself.

JAMMS.jpgI placed my actual order once (S) arrived.  She went with pancakes of which I am learning is her favorite breakfast item.  For myself I wanted to try their Jamms French Toast.  This item was a nice egg bread coated with cornflakes.  I made it a combo adding a side of bacon and scrambled eggs.  The cost wanted too bad, no more than $11.00.  I’ve had cheaper and more expensive with literally fewer items on my plate.    The bread was thick and soft, which makes a great french toast.  I just wish the secret batter included some or more vanilla or considered some amaretto flavoring.  I can never go wrong with eggs for I only prefer them scrambled hard.  I even enjoyed my bacon and yes I have encountered some horrible pork in my time.

I still think my best cornflake french toast experience was at Blu Jam Cafe.  I haven’t been back in a really long time, I think two years, mainly because of the stress of finding parking.  You know, the joys of in Los Angeles.

Over all my time here was not the greatest so I know I won’t bother to return.  My negative was the long wait for someone to greet me at my table while I sat there alone waiting for my friend to arrive.  Nobody came over to greet me until way after she arrived.  Therefor I going to drop my rating on their customer service.  So much for jamming it up in Vegas.  Until then.

It’s ALWAYS Pretzel Time

I LOVE BREAD!

It’s not the first or last time I’ll ever announce that. Depending on what it is, I like it hard, I like it soft, I like it with butter, I like it with garlic sauce – I just like it. CORRECTION – I LOVE IT – as previously announced.  One type of bread I can’t keep my hands off are soft pretzels <sigh>.  It’s so bad The Eagle knows not to even ask me if I want one from the concession stand if ever at the theater, park or event.  AND to my surprise, someone has been placing a box of frozen pretzels in my cart when I’m alone at the grocery store. (shifty eyes low to the right, tilts head and walks away…)

OK FINE – IT’S ME!

I’M THE ONE WHO THINKS IT’S PRETZEL TIME – EVERY TIME!!!

It’s another day at the market.  I find a good parking spot.  People are focused, reviewing their list and confirming their selections.  I grab a cart while placing my ear buds in.  “Hmm MJ or DA playlist?” I ask myself.  I enjoy singing along to a fun tune as I toss my money into the shelves of each aisle.

Rations at my Residence

We all do it, make breakfast at home.  Some meals turn out great, while others…complete fail.   Sometimes there’s time to cook, other times not.  Regardless of your reasoning with seasoning <chuckle>, here’s a Run-down of some Random Rations at my Residence.

Seasoned pasta with spinach and red sauce topped with an egg and sprinkled with pepper and cheddar cheese.

Oatmeal is great for lowering cholesterol.  I prefer mine with brown sugar, almond milk and any dried or fresh fruit available.  This bowl contains raisins 🙂

What to do with my Banana?

LovingBananas.jpg

“pssst”

“pssst”

“Hey, you over there!”

It was the banana trying to get my attention.  Now I know what you’re thinking?  You’re thinking I’m crazy.  Well, just know I love food and it loves me back to the point I hear it speak to me.  Sometimes I resist.  Other times… .

It kept asking me crazy questions like, “Do you love me?”  I’m thinking – OF COURSE!  Who doesn’t love fruit?

“Rub some sugar on me,” the banana kept saying.
